Fuel & Terminal Operations

Security Guard II.

Protect a Department of Defense fuel terminal after hours. You control access, patrol the perimeter every hour, keep the logs, and are the first response if anything happens overnight, on a weekend or on a holiday.

First 90 days

By day 30 you are qualified on the post orders, the spill plan and the patrol route, and your logs go to the customer without correction. By day 60 you have handled an alarm or an after-hours arrival on your own judgment and notified the right people in the right order. By day 90 you know the site well enough to notice what is wrong at two in the morning, which is the entire value of the position and the part no checklist covers.

Requirements

  • Willing and available to work nights, weekends and holidays on a rotating shift
  • Able to pass a background check and obtain unescorted access to a military installation
  • Hourly foot patrols of a terminal perimeter in all weather, day and night, with a watch clock
  • Legible, accurate log and visitor register keeping. The guard log goes to the customer every duty day
  • First aid and CPR (we provide it if you do not hold it). Florida Class D license preferred

Apply for this role

Offers for this role are contingent on the Defense Logistics Agency awarding the contract to Alpha Federal. We make contingent offers early so the right people are cleared for base access and ready on day one rather than starting the process after award.

This post is unarmed and the standing instruction is to avoid the use of force. You observe, you report, you notify. Prior security or military police experience helps, and familiarity with fuel or industrial sites helps more.
